Educators

Our SSCS Team

Our diverse and dynamic educators are our strongest assets at SSCS. They bring their hearts, souls, and knowledge to school each day to help create the magical environment where children explore, discover, and learn how to live as creative and capable individuals in a vibrant community.

The faculty at Second Street Children’s School are uniquely qualified to work within a child-centered program. All educators work in co-teaching teams. In the morning program, one or both of the team members have a bachelor's or master's degree in early childhood education, elementary education, or a closely related field, or AA or CDA certificates with extensive teaching experience. Support educators and afternoon program staff have a minimum of a high school diploma and previous successful work with young children. Each faculty member is required to participate in a minimum of 18 hours of continuing education per year. Every effort is made to insure faculty stability and retention.

If you are interested in joining a collaborative team of reflective and professional early education practitioners, enjoy being outside in a beautiful developmental play space, believe in play based education and have a desire to work with young children in an intentional and authentic way, please consider joining our team!
