Hours of Operation?

Second Street Children’s School’s (SSCS) provides half and full day education and care for children aged 2.5-6yrs, open Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 5:30pm. SSCS follows the TUSD calendar. Please see the SSCS calendar for details.

School Calendar?

Second Street Children's School follows the Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) calendar with some exceptions. There are regularly scheduled days that the school is closed. This includes a fall, spring, and winter break in addition to national holidays, family/teacher conferences, one ½ day, and 3 faculty inservice days per year.

Summer School?

Our Summer Program is open to currently enrolled students, recent alumni, and (occasionally) newly enrolled students, depending upon space.

During the summer program, in addition to a Big Idea for each summer session and modified outside schedule, the routine is similar to the academic school year. Contact us for more details.

Family Participation?

You are invited to participate in a range of ways. We believe participation in your child's school promotes trust in our school community and is a positive model for your children. You are invited to sign up for a volunteer job at the beginning of the school year and help your child's classroom with special activities or events.
